Oddly enough, it is oil painting that novice artists are most afraid of. Interesting, isn't it? And the answer to the question of why this happens is simply a lack of information. We associate oil with the era of unshakable old masters, for whom we have respect. And since these same masters founded and popularized oil painting, it seems that we, artists who only start the way of drawing, are unlikely to be able to repeat their unattainable masterpieces.
